I love this video. Not only does it use clips from Election, one of my favorite movies, but it beautifully encapsulates the Clinton campaign’s sense of entitlement. As a friend said yesterday, “she’s largely riding Bill’s coat tails.” That’s overstating it a bit. Still, while I respect her long career of working for social change, — like her, I once worked for the Children’s Defense Fund — and she’s been a fine senator of New York, her experience isn’t that much deeper than the full public and private experiences of John Edwards and Barack Obama. Both strike me as fairly quick studies, anyhow. Bill Clinton, don’t forget was only 42 when he took office — the third-youngest ever to ascend to the presidency. And his experience, while impressive was primarily as governor of a very small state — one fifth the size of say, Illinois. I’ll have more to say about this in future postings, I’m sure.
Thanks to my friend Steve Rowe passing this along.
