Bush’s not all there

Posted on Wednesday 21 March 2007

Today, I was exploring the White House’s video tours. Laura Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove and others give you a tour of various rooms in the historic building. It’s dry, but interesting.

Bush’s tour of the Oval Office is quite peculiar. If you listen carefully, at least twice he completely repeats himself. He recites information about a piece of artwork, and then immediately recants the same exact information again. Now, I have absolutely no professional standing to make this observation — and I say this with all seriousness and no disrespect intended — I think the man has some sort of cognitive disability.

Regardless, couldn’t the White House staff that produced this video have coaxed a better performance out of him?
